This year’s theme for Vacation Bible School was “Hero Hotline,” where everyone was called together to serve God and work as a team. June 26-30 was a fantastically fun and faith-filled week for 40 children from Redeemer and Pleasant Valley Connection, who were supported by 20 volunteers from the church.
Some moments of blessing during the week (shared by Lori Hawkins):
- pure joy when a child’s face lights up just from seeing you in the morning!
- listening to one another and the Spirit.
- a boy, wise beyond his years, who is thankful for “a roof over my head and food on the table.”
- knowing that our adult volunteers get even more out of VBS than the children do.
