Our Building & Grounds

Our campus sits on approximately 4.7 acres on Mauldin Road in Greenville SC, minutes from the Augusta Road business corridor, downtown Greenville and S. Pleasantburg Dr/Highway 291.

In our sanctuary, the principle focus is a contemporary wooden cross, in front of which is a beautiful wooden altar.  The atmosphere created by the oak paneling, altar, and pews, as well as the red carpet and red accents that occur throughout the sanctuary is one of warmth and reverence.  Stained glass windows line one wall, coming brilliantly to life when the sun strikes them each morning.  The theme of the windows is Jesus the Redeemer, and each window represents one of the ways Jesus is described in the Gospel according to John. The meaning, purpose, and calling of The Church of the Redeemer are portrayed through the symbols shown in the windows.

One-story education and office wings branch off the main sanctuary/transept area and also connect with the parish hall.   Now named Purser Hall in honor of the Reverend Philip Purser, Redeemer’s rector from 1981-2000, the parish hall corridor also includes the choir’s robe and practice rooms and a large kitchen used for social gatherings and parish activities.

A secure, fenced playground area is easily accessible from the classrooms, nursery, and toddler room.

The entire building surrounds the garth, a lovely memorial garden which is filled with azaleas in all colors, numerous flowering bulbs, bird feeders, dogwood trees, and an old oak.
