Rev. Catherine Tatem, Redeemer’s next Rector

The Church of the Redeemer joyfully announces that the Reverend Catherine Tatem has accepted our call to become the next Rector.

Rev. Tatem is currently the Rector at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Henrietta, New York, just outside of Rochester.

She is a 2008 graduate of the School of Theology at The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, and has been in the ministry since then.  From 2008 through 2012, she was the Vicar of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Columbia, Mississippi, and from 2008 through 2010 also served as Priest-in-Charge of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Collins, Mississippi.

Prior to attending seminary, Rev. Tatem worked for twenty years for General Motors in various management positions in Chevrolet Motor Division and Service Parts Operations.

She is active in The Order of the Daughters of the King and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at The University of the South, with her degree expected in 2020.

Redeemer was blessed to have two very strong candidates selected through a rigorous process conducted by our Search Committee.  After meeting at length with both candidates and engaging in prayer and reflection, the Vestry unanimously decided that Rev. Tatem was the right person for Redeemer.  God answered our prayers when she accepted our call.

Rev. Tatem will be starting here on September 1.
